PASTIME BAR, Saturday, September 26th "Benefit Poker Run for Jimmy Kelly"
Our Poker Run on September 26th to Benefit Jimmy Kelly was totally successful. We all began gathering at Pastime around 10:00 a.m. to register. We had Mama Tex and Mama "B" (Rosco's Mom) working the sign-up table. We had 75 sign up to go on the poker run. After a brief meet and greet session the riders began to gather in groups and ride out.
The last of us left out by 1:00p.m. and made our way over to the ChuckWagon to draw a poker card and drink a bloodymary. While we were there, most of us signed up to join the soon to be Irish Pub Club.
Leaving there we headed over to Greybeard's to pull a card and drink a beer while we chill out on his new back deck. They've done a lot work and the backyard was really nice.
Before long we were out of there and on our way to Steel Pony. We arrived there to discover LimoJoe had quite a crowd and one of his regulars was serving up some of the finest fried grouper we had ever eaten. Needless to say we ended up hanging around too long, eatin and drinkin and now we were running short of time.
Kickstands up and we're off to Yesterday's for another card. For a lot of the group this was their first visit to Yesterday's and the staff there wasn't really prepared for our crowd. So some of us just pulled a card, drank a beer and off to Pastime for the real party.
Once we arrived back at Pastime the band "Drivin South" was puttin out some great tunes and everyone was really having a great time. Hungry and Evil Vicki were running around selling raffle and 50/50 tickets. Ann was serving up some ice cold beer in the bar and Rhonda was slinging beer from the back bar. Clint from Gieger Meats was getting the food ready to serve. Rosco, Apple and I were getting the prizes ready to raffle and auction while Big Earl was moving Jimmy thru the crowd on his Harley Golf Cart. People were dancing , laughing and having a great time all throughout the night.
The $200 poker hand was won by Jeff Hancock and the 50/50 went to Joe, and they both donated the money right back to Jimmy. Everything included we raised $2,260 for this cause and we can't say thank you enough for your support.
